The Cynthiana Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is truly grateful for Marie Hehr's kindness, her faith and her stewardship.  We remember Marie as one who gave from her best (Hebrews 12:1-2).  Marie passed away in 2006.  She left her entire estate to the Cynthiana Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).   The Marie Hehr Park was purchased with funds from her estate.  Sometime around 1944, Marie bought a farm on New Lair Road and wanted to attend church somewhere close.  Cynthiana Christian Church was that church!  The minister announced that there was going to be a potluck dinner and everyone was invited.  She attend the potluck and before she left that dinner, she had met everyone there and really enjoyed herself and the fellowship.  Marie's faith was ever so strong.  In her later years when her health was failing and her eyesight gone, she would say, "The Lord will take care of me whatever happens!  Don't worry about me!"  The Marie Hehr Park is a place where we can enjoy the fellowship of all ages.  We eat, laugh, play and worship as we enjoy all of God's creation.  What a tremendous gift that will keep on giving through Marie's remembrance and love of and for her church.
