Humbled Servant

Reading for Wednesday, February 24

Hebrews 3:12-19

When I was asked to write a meditation for the Lenten Season, I indeed was humbled.  How much do I know about the interpretation of the Scriptures?  And then, the timing seemed all wrong for me.  As I write this, I am in a somewhat overwhelmed, grieving state.

I looked in my Bible to read over the suggested passage (Hebrews 3:12-19).  I immediately realized that long ago I had underlined Hebrews 3:13 – “But encourage one another daily,” – Surely, the lord was speaking to me.

For a great while, I have had as my mind set, my prayer – Help me to be good and grateful.  I need to add encouraging.  Help me to be good and grateful and encouraging.  Many, many dear ones have been caring, loving, and encouraging to my loved ones and me – and they continue.  I must reach out to others more and more and not use maladies and situations as excuses.  God is so good to all of us.

“Because He lives, I can face tomorrow; because He lives, all fear is gone; because I know He holds the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives.”
