Who Am I?

Reading for Monday, February 22

Ephesians 2:8-9

Rusty Goodman was a singer and a songwriter with The Happy Goodmans. In 1965 he wrote the song “Who Am I?” In part the song says, “Who am I that a King would bleed and die for? Many of us have been asking that question for a long time.  In Genesis 1:27 it is written, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him male and female He created them.” It is so thrilling to know the God that created the universe created man. That is so awesome!

On April 27, 1964 sometime between 9 and 9:30 on a Monday evening, I received the free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus. That night I started my journey with God.

What a trip it has been. With Christ in my life, I can say with confidence, I know where I came from, what I am doing here and where I am going. The song also says “I may never know why He loved me so, that to an old rugged cross He would go, for Who Am I?

It is so exciting to know who we are in Christ.

Thought for today, God's son Jesus died for us, so we could live for Him.
