Romans 10:1-13

"Righteousness" - the moral perfection God requires of us in order to enter the gates of Heaven.

Who amongst us feels they deserve the title of being righteous?  If you think it comes as a result of your own doing, you might want to think again!  Paul tells us, in this passage, that the only way each and every one of us can attain righteousness is by faith.  Salvation comes to us by the grace of Christ.  He took upon Himself all of our sins - our unrighteous behaviors - and took them with Him to the cross.  Because of this act of love for all mankind, we have the opportunity to become righteous - simply by having faith in Christ.

The word "lent" was used by the English as the name of the season between winter and summer.  We call this season "Spring" - a time for renewal of life and new beginnings.  As we approach the Lenten season, let us renew our faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Keep Him in your heart and spread the news to others about His love.  His gift of salvation - and righteousness - is free to anyone  - if only we believe!
