Rescued By Christ

Romans 5: 12-21
How often do we judge those who commit horrible crimes? How strongly do we rail at those who demand leniency, who deny their crimes or gloat in them? How often do we compare ourselves to others and declare that our sins are not as awful? I have to admit that I am guilty.
Paul speaks about our lives in sin and the free gift to us of righteousness. The Law of Moses was the result of the sin of Adam which spread to all humanity. Where Adam’s sin brought death to all who followed, Jesus’ example brings eternal life.
Christ was supremely obedient to the will of God. His death on the cross was not through blind faith. It was determined through a clear vision and filled with God’s promise of forgiveness and salvation. God’s judgment had already been made about our sinful lives when He sent His Son to the world.
How great it is that when we fail to follow the example of Jesus, we can ask for forgiveness from God. The forgiveness is guaranteed. The acknowledgement by us of our sins is what God wants to hear because then He knows that we are of one accord in living our faith and in glorifying the gifts He has generously given us.
Father,
Please forgive me when I fail to be humble. Help me to realize that my sins are forgiven through the obedient life of Christ and His sacrifice unto death for me. Make me worthy of eternal life so that while I still abide on Earth, though I stumble and fall, I will know that Your Grace saves me, Your Love sustains me and Your Son rescues me.
Amen
