Farming with the Lord
Reading for Wednesday, March 10
John 8:12-20
“Who is God?” is the greatest question in the universe. The ages, and I, have struggled to learn the answer. I was baptized in the “deep hole” of Beaver Creek on the farm we now own but I had no idea at the age of 9 what was involved in knowing Christ. It wasn’t until I attempted to make a living as a farmer that I really knew God, the one in charge of the universe.
I do my part of planting seed but I know my hope of a successful crop is in the land of the Lord. Frequently we think we are in charge of our lives when in reality we are just passing through. I worry about the movement to fields of asphalt. How do city folk, know God is in control?
We all must see God with our spiritual eyes, with the truth within us. According to the scripture, we learn God is light. It is the striving to become aware of His light and to come in close contact with His power that is, perhaps the reason we make this brief journey on Earth.
